What are French Greetings?Greetings are the first words you say when meeting someone. In French, greetings vary depending on the time of day and how formal the situation is.
Common French GreetingsThe most common greeting is Bonjour, which means 'Hello' or 'Good morning'. For the evening, you can say Bonsoir, meaning 'Good evening'. To say 'Hi' informally, use Salut.
