Summarising
The process of condensing information from a text into a concise form, focusing on key points.
Purpose of summarising
To provide a clear and brief overview of the main ideas or information in a text.
Key steps in summarising
Identify main ideas, ignore irrelevant details, and use your own words to condense the information.
Explicit meaning in summarising
Information that is directly stated in the text and can be clearly identified.
Implicit meaning in summarising
Information that is implied or inferred from the text, requiring interpretation.
