Pie Chart
A circular chart divided into sectors, where each sector represents a proportion of the total.
Sector in a Pie Chart
A section of the pie chart that represents a category or part of the data.
Angle in a Pie Chart
The angle of a sector is proportional to the frequency or value it represents.
Total Angle in a Pie Chart
The total angle in a pie chart is always 360 degrees.
Calculating Sector Angle
(Category frequency ÷ Total frequency) × 360.
Interpreting a Pie Chart
Use the size of the sectors to compare proportions or frequencies of different categories.
Drawing a Pie Chart
Calculate each sector angle, draw the sectors using a protractor, and label each sector.
Protractor Use in Pie Charts
A protractor is used to measure and draw the angles for each sector accurately.
Proportional Representation in Pie Charts
Each sector's size is proportional to the data it represents, making comparisons easy.
Advantages of Pie Charts
They visually show proportions and are useful for comparing parts of a whole.
