Percentage
A fraction expressed as a part of 100.
Finding a percentage of a number
Multiply the number by the percentage (as a decimal or fraction).
Converting a fraction to a percentage
Multiply the fraction by 100 and add the % symbol.
Converting a decimal to a percentage
Multiply the decimal by 100 and add the % symbol.
Converting a percentage to a decimal
Divide the percentage by 100.
Percentage increase
Increase = (Percentage ÷ 100) × Original Value. Add this to the original value.
Percentage decrease
Decrease = (Percentage ÷ 100) × Original Value. Subtract this from the original value.
Reverse percentage
To find the original value, divide the final value by (1 ± percentage change as a decimal).
Expressing one number as a percentage of another
Divide the first number by the second number, then multiply by 100.
Compound interest formula
Final Amount = Principal × (1 + Rate/100)^Time.
