Narrative voice
The perspective or viewpoint from which a story is told, shaping how the reader experiences the text.
First-person narrative
A story told from the perspective of 'I' or 'we', providing a personal and subjective viewpoint.
Third-person narrative
A story told from the perspective of 'he', 'she', 'they', or a named character, offering a more detached viewpoint.
Second-person narrative
A story told using 'you', directly addressing the reader and creating an immersive experience.
Omniscient narrator
A narrator who knows everything about the story, including characters' thoughts and feelings.
Limited narrator
A narrator who only knows the thoughts and feelings of one character, creating a focused perspective.
Objective narrator
A narrator who describes events without revealing characters' thoughts or feelings, presenting a neutral viewpoint.
Unreliable narrator
A narrator whose credibility is compromised, often leading the reader to question their version of events.
Effect of narrative voice
The choice of narrative voice influences how the reader perceives characters, events, and themes in the text.
Narrative viewpoint
The position or perspective from which the narrator tells the story, such as first-person, third-person, or omniscient.
