Direct Address
Speaking directly to the audience using 'you' to engage them and make the message personal.
Alliteration
The repetition of the same initial consonant sound in closely placed words to create emphasis or a memorable effect.
Facts
Statements that can be proven true, used to add credibility and support arguments.
Opinions
Personal beliefs or judgements presented as if they are true to persuade the audience.
Rhetorical Questions
Questions posed to the audience that do not require an answer, used to provoke thought or emphasise a point.
Emotive Language
Words or phrases designed to evoke an emotional response from the audience, such as sympathy or anger.
Statistics
Numerical data used to support arguments and make them appear more convincing.
Triplets (Rule of Three)
Grouping three ideas, words, or phrases together for emphasis and to make the message more memorable.
Exaggeration (Hyperbole)
Overstating something for dramatic effect or to emphasise a point.
Tone
The overall attitude or mood conveyed by the writer, which can be formal, informal, serious, or humorous depending on the purpose.
