Volume of a cuboid formula
Volume = length × width × height
Units for volume of a cuboid
Cubic units, e.g., cm³, m³, mm³
What is a cuboid?
A 3D shape with six rectangular faces, where opposite faces are equal.
How to find the length of a cuboid if volume, width, and height are known
Length = Volume ÷ (width × height)
How to find the width of a cuboid if volume, length, and height are known
Width = Volume ÷ (length × height)
How to find the height of a cuboid if volume, length, and width are known
Height = Volume ÷ (length × width)
Volume of a cube
Volume = side³ (since all sides of a cube are equal)
Key property of a cube
All edges of a cube are of equal length.
Effect of doubling all dimensions of a cuboid on its volume
The volume increases by a factor of 8 (2³).
Real-life example of a cuboid
A rectangular box or a brick.
