Suffix
A group of letters added to the end of a word to change its meaning or grammatical function.
-ful
A suffix meaning 'full of' or 'having qualities of', e.g., 'hopeful'.
-less
A suffix meaning 'without', e.g., 'careless'.
-ly
A suffix used to form adverbs, e.g., 'quickly'.
-ness
A suffix used to form nouns that express a state or quality, e.g., 'kindness'.
-ment
A suffix used to form nouns indicating an action or result, e.g., 'enjoyment'.
-tion
A suffix used to form nouns indicating an action or process, e.g., 'creation'.
