Transformation
A change in the position, size, or orientation of a shape.
Types of transformations
Reflection, rotation, translation, and enlargement.
Combined transformations
Applying two or more transformations to a shape, one after the other.
Order of transformations
The order in which transformations are applied can affect the final result.
Invariant point
A point that does not move during a transformation.
Reflection followed by translation
A shape is reflected in a line and then moved to a new position by translation.
Rotation followed by enlargement
A shape is rotated about a point and then enlarged by a scale factor.
Translation followed by reflection
A shape is moved to a new position by translation and then reflected in a line.
Enlargement followed by rotation
A shape is enlarged by a scale factor and then rotated about a point.
Key property of combined transformations
The final image depends on the type and order of transformations applied.
